SPHE Resource for Schools Launched

Bodywhys today (February 20th) launched a new SPHE Resource for schools, “Responding to Eating Disorders and Body Image Issues”

The resource – a collaboration between Bodywhys and the SPHE Support Service – provides detailed information on what eating disorders are, how teachers can recognise and respond to eating disorders in the school environment, and how best to work with parents of those affected.

The resource also contains a series of lesson plans to assist trained SPHE teachers when addressing these issues with both Junior and Senior cycle students in the classroom context.

Full training with the resource will be provided by the SPHE support team.

Upcoming training days are as follows:

  • Region 1: March 15th at Skylon Hotel, Drumcondra
  • Region 2: March 28th at Kilkenny Education Centre
  • Region 3: March 27th at Waterford Teachers Centre
  • Region 4: March 27th at Clare Education Centre, Ennis

Training can be booked via the sphe.ie website.

All queries relating to the resource should be directed to the Bodywhys Central Office on (01) 283 4963 or info@bodywhys.ie
