Bodywhys selected as ARAMARK’s Leinster charity of the year

Each year, ARAMARK Ireland employees are asked to nominate charities from their local area which they feel are in need of ARAMARK’s support. Four charities are selected from those nominated to represent each province.

They are: • Bodywhys – Eastern Region • Console – Western Region • Red Branch – Southern Region • Chest, Heart Stroke – Northern Region.

Donal O’Brien, CEO of ARAMARK said, “Our Corporate Responsibility programme allows our own colleagues select the charities, this means that they can really identify and support the charity for their region, benefiting the local community. This year’s charities represent some of the key issues we are focusing on as an organisation in line with our health & wellness Right Track programme. We are really looking forward to raising funds and supporting our new charities for 2013.”

Jacinta Hastings, Chief Executive Officer, Bodywhys said, “Eating disorders (EDs) pose a considerable threat to the health and well-being of adolescents and adults in Ireland. Bodywhys – the Eating Disorders Association of Ireland are delighted to have been chosen as one of ARAMARK’s charities for 2013.

Bodywhys offers a range of support services to the 200,000 people in Ireland affected by eating disorders. With the generous support of ARAMARK we can, with confidence, extend our services and reach even more people.”

ARAMARK established a special charitable fund in 2008 and it has raised over €220,000 since its foundation. Throughout the year, ARAMARK Ireland employees will run a series of fundraising events such as the ARAMARK Ireland Cupcake Campaign, with proceeds raised going towards the four charities.”
