Plans are well in advance at this stage for the ECED General Meeting and Conference in Belfast from September 22nd – 24th. It has been decided to extend the early registration rate up until July 29th. This is a significant saving on the full ticket price (£75/€90) and includes all conference meals at the conference venue (Assembly Buildings) and admission to the gala evening dinner and entertainment on September 22nd in the Titanic Museum Ballroom. In addition, this will be an exciting weekend in Belfast as it coincides with Belfast’s annual Culture night on Friday September 23rd and there are a vast number of cultural events for all interests.
On the academic front, apart from the usual two debates on hot topics, the following 4 workshops have now been confirmed:
- How to reduce critical thoughts and voices in eating disorder patients
- Perspectives from the development of a mentalization-based intensive outpatient service for adolescents with eating disorders
- Anxiety, body, and motherhood; eating disorders in pregnancy and postpartum
- The rocket launch project. Implementing key components of evidence-based family therapy for eating disorder in child and adolescent psychiatric outpatient care
There will be 28 oral presentations on a variety of research topics and numerous poster presentations. Full details of the provisional programme will be posted here in the coming weeks. The abstract submission date is now also extended until July 29th.
Please don’t forget to book your accommodation early as it will be a busy weekend in Belfast. ECED has secured discounts in many of the city hotels, but early booking is advised.
