Alice Cashman from University College Cork is researching the lived experiences of individuals with bulimia (18+).
The study will focus particularly on the development of the disorder over time, the effects of public perception, their help-seeking behaviours and possible barriers to help-seeking. The research will take the form of semi-structured interviews with individuals who have previously or are currently suffering from bulimia. For the interview, the questions will focus on the behaviours and feelings experienced by the participants at various stages of the disorder, on their attitudes towards the disorder, on the effects of public perception, on their help-seeking behaviour and the potential barriers to help-seeking.
