Background: Body positivity is a social movement that promotes love and respect for all bodies regardless of the thin ideal that is present in Western culture. Recently there has been a growing discourse regarding media messages about body image and the thin ideal, particularly in relation to the construct of body positivity. While there is a wide breadth of literature exploring body image and related constructs, there is no standard measure that captures individuals attitudes towards body positivity.
Aim: To collect feedback from experts in the field of body image in order to develop a scale measuring one’s attitudes towards the construct of body positivity.
Format: Brief survey that takes about 5 minutes to complete.
Confidentiality: Participants submit responses anonymously. Quotes from qualitative feedback will not be published in any format.
Ethics: This study received ethical approval from Dublin Business School in January 2025.
